My favorite method to use when factoring a qaudratic equation is the box method. Even though you can only use the box method when it's just x squared, I find it easier to use than the x method. The box method to me is easier to understand and use.

Steps for box method
1. Find the factors of "c" that also add up to "b"
2. Plug "a", the factors and "c" in the box
3. Take the factors from the top and left side and that is your factored answers
